Lakeshore Drive closure begins Monday in St. Joseph

BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. – A section of Lakeshore Drive will close on Monday for bridge work on the I-94 Business Loop over the CSX Railroad in St. Joseph, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

The bridge work includes structural steel repairs, deck patching, painting, and pin and hanger replacement.

I-94 will be closed between Vail Court and Lakeshore Road. Traffic will be detoured on Hilltop Road and M-63 (Niles Avenue).

MDOT is investing $877,000 into the project, which will extend the life of the bridge and provide a safer and smoother driving surface.

The project is expected to be complete by Friday, February 25.
