Kosciusko County grandparents sentenced in child kidnapping case

Kosciusko County Jail

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The grandparents of a child kidnapping victim will spend time behind bars for their role in the crime.

Timothy and Anna Mullin were both convicted of Kidnapping where the victim is less than 14 years of age. Their daughter, Jennifer Mullin, has a warrant for her arrest related to this case.

Court documents show Jennifer and a man she was in a relationship with co-parented their child in Kosciusko County. In September 2024, Jennifer left the county and took the child to live with her parents in Wayne County. Investigators say Jennifer then cut off contact with the child's father. He then launched proceedings to secure parental rights. In April, a judge signed a temporary custody order to the father after Jennifer was found non-compliant with several court orders.

In June 2024, Jennifer and Timothy failed to bring the child to a court hearing. They reported the child was left in Wayne County with Anna. She was found in contempt of court. Jennifer was also vague and non-committal about the child's actual whereabouts.

The same day, Anna reportedly left her Wayne County home and took the child with her. Further investigations revealed the family allegedly plotted to hide the girl after the court custody order, even using burner phones. Anna and the missing girl were found in Indianapolis in July 2024. The girl's red hair had been dyed black.

Both will spend a combined two years and 180 days in jail for their convictions.
