K-9's alert leads to two arrested on Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana
Marshall County Jail MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A man and woman were arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana Sunday night after a K-9's alert at a traffic stop.
Dustin Singleton, the 37-year-old driver, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, and Possession of Marijuana.
Heather Egger, the 44-year-old passenger, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Drug Conviction.
The vehicle was considered a suspect in a reported theft in progress around 11 p.m. Sunday night, later found by Marshall County deputies around US 31 and Veterans Parkway.
During the investigation, the deputies determined the incident was a civil matter with no theft having occurred. However, a K-9 also performed an open-air sniff, altering the deputies to the presence of drugs.
Deputies searched the vehicle, allegedly finding drugs inside and on Egger's person.
Singleton and Egger were booked at Marshall County Jail, and both were given bonds set at $1,505.
