Juvenile suffers injury after bullet pierces Elkhart home Friday

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police are reporting that a juvenile female suffered a non-life-threatening laceration while at a 1220 Mason St. residence after a bullet pierced an upstairs room on Friday.
Police say the call came in around 10:46 p.m. and an officer was dispatched to the residence where they met with the residents who said that after hearing gunshots, they found an apparent bullet had penetrated the house in an upstairs room.
"A juvenile female suffered a non-life-threatening laceration, possibly from breaking glass," EPD said. "No other injuries were reported, and this case remains under investigation."
