James Gunn and Peter Safran to lead DC Studios and Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

(CNN). --Film director James Gunn joins Warner Bros. Discovery as Co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DC Studios.

Known for his work producing "The Conjuring" movie-verse, Peter Safran will also be working alongside James Gunn, overseeing filmed entertainment.   

Also making waves in Disney, with the unveil of "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" trailer, which Gunn wrote and directed.
