Mild weekend, stormy Monday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The IU Alumni Association aren’t strangers to organizing watch parties, and Corby’s Irish Pub is no stranger to hosting the group.
The difference this season is all in the attendance. For the National Championship game, Corby’s had over 80 reservations — many of which went to IU alumni.
Hoosier fans brought all the energy with pompoms, drums and even breaking out a celebratory cake when Indiana University went into halftime up ten.
“I remember when I was a student, you know, we bought football tickets because we had to in order to get basketball tickets,” said Christopher Hillak, a secretary on the executive board for the Alumni Association. “You know, football games were not exciting to go to, and things have turned around and it’s just an amazing opportunity.”
