ISP hoofs it to Indiana Toll Road to rescue pony from median Sunday

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Sgt. Ted Bohner with the Indiana State Police Bremen Post reports that ISP Dispatch received a call around 11:08 a.m. Sunday regarding a pony on the median of the Indiana Toll Road near mile-marker 44 in La Porte County.
ISP says that two Troopers 'galloped' to the area and both of them had 'long faces' when they did not see the reported pony.
"Bridled with anticipation they continued to search the area," ISP stated "After more than a half hour of searching, these wannabe cowboys saw the runaway pony near a fence line south of the Toll Road. Trp. Arnold and Trp. McCormick hoofed it up the snowy embankment to rein in the pony."
The pony, identified as Sassy, wasn’t ready for the adventure to end and continued on her way before Trp. McCormick was able to catch up after Sassy got tangled in a vine.
"With the help of the La Porte County Sheriff's Office the troopers were able to contact Sassy’s owners," ISP said. "It was learned that Sassy had been a bit sassy earlier in the day and charged at her owner and escaped. Sassy’s owners came to the scene and took her home."
