LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police Cold Case announced Friday that it's currently looking for any information regarding the death of an Amish teen during traffic-related incident on Mar. 22, 1969.

Police say the teen, identified as 17-year-old Mervin Lehman of LaGrange, was in a horse-drawn buggy with his family when a person in a passing car threw a large rock at the buggy.

This occurred on C.R. 300 West near C.R. 350 South around midnight.

The rock struck Lehman in the chest and the boy was rushed home where a neighbor then drove the boy to the hospital.

Lehman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are now asking for the communities' assistance in this case.
