Irish cheerleaders, band pump up kids at Oklahoma hospital
BETHANY, Okla. -- Hundreds of people showed up at the Children’s Center in Bethany, Oklahoma, Friday to see a special performance from the Notre Dame cheerleaders, band, and Leprechaun.
Rows and rows of local students came out and even made 'Welcome Notre Dame' signs.
Patients of the Children’s Center and their families got to march along with the band and then saw a special performance afterwards.
The hospital helps children with complex medical and physical disabilities.
They have about 120 patients from Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Regardless of who wins Saturday, the children were the winners Friday, said Travis Doussette of the Children’s Center.
"Obviously we're in the middle of Oklahoma, there's a lot of OU fans but for a chance like this for our kids it means the world to them. So no matter Notre Dame, OU, who ever wins the game the real winner today is our kids here at the Children’s Center,” said Doussette.
