SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A scholarship opportunity is open for college students in Indiana pursuing degrees in engineering. 

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced it is seeking applicants for its Engineering Scholarship Program. The program offers $3,125 per semester, or $2,083 per trimester for up to five years of post-secondary Civil Engineering education.

INDOT says recipients will also have the opportunity to work full-time, paid positions with the department during summer breaks and upon graduation.

Officials say students must be accepted or enrolled full-time in one of Indiana's accredited Civil Engineering schools.
