Indiana Sheriff's Association offering 40 $750 scholarships to students

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A release from the La Porte County Sheriff's Office was sent out Thursday with information on how to apply for one of 40 $750 scholarships that will be awarded to qualifying college students and high school seniors this year.

To qualify for one of the scholarships, the applicant must be an Indiana resident, a current member of the ISA or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field and enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours).

Officials say applications are available from local high school counselors or the LCSO. It is also available as an online fillable form

Applications are due on or before April 1.
