SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Police escorted Indiana’s largest outdoor Christmas tree to South Bend near the Inn at Saint Mary’s.
The tree stands at about 70 feet tall and will be decorated with over 10,000 lights and more than 700 ornaments.
“There's a lot of work involved in something like this. Building the foundation was a big deal, finding the tree, you know, and then trimming it,” said John Phair, Chairman of Holladay Properties.
A public tree lighting will be hosted at the site on December 7 at 6:15 p.m.
The event will feature the Notre Dame chorale and will provide visitors with free coffee or tea with the donation of an unwrapped toy.
