Indiana hosting Ukrainian Olympians for training

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced that the State of Indiana will host the Ukrainian men’s Olympic Greco-Roman Wresting Team for training this summer.

The team will train at Hammond Central High School from July 7 to August 3.

In March, Governor Holcomb and Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers’ met with the Ambassador of Ukraine in Washington to discuss ways to help the country.

Wrestlers will use the high school’s state-of-the-art facility, which opened in 2021.

They will also meet and train with local wrestlers during their time in Indiana.

Arrangements were made possible by the state, Indiana Sports Corp, and the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority.
