Loud but otherwise mundane thunderstorms are passing through the area early this morning, leaving behind conditions suitable for patchy and dense fog out the door. There may be minor traffic delays during the AM commute, but the temperature inversion quickly goes away as Michiana prepares for another day in the heatwave. Temperatures peak in the low 90s with heat index values near the triple digits again, warranting another heat advisory for our entire forecast area. Pop-up showers and storms are possible in the afternoon and early evening with downpours and gusty winds as the main concern. Severe weather is possible but unlikely during these PM showers and storms in the second half of the day. Quieter and more seasonal weather awaits on Saturday with highs in the mid 80s, but our area returns to the 90s at the end of this weekend with rain likely Sunday night into Monday.
Today: Scattered thunderstorms. High 90.
