Homeowner assaulted after finding burglars inside his home

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A homeowner was assaulted Tuesday morning when he returned to his home and found burglars inside, according to South Bend Police.
The homeowner arrived to his home in the 2400 block of W. Bonds Avenue around 9:30 a.m. and found people inside burglarizing his home.
When he attempted to confront the burglars, he was assaulted.
The homeowner suffered minor injuries.
The case remains under investigation.
