LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the area of 6469 N. 1000 W. around 1:29 p.m. on Oct. 18 for a two-vehicle crash.

The Indiana State Police also responded to the scene.

Authorities report an Acadia, driven by Juan Daniel Diaz Perez of White Pigeon, was travelling north on N. 1000 W. when passing a horse drawn buggy, also traveling north.

Perez then struck a pickup truck, driven by 73-year-old James Eash of Shipshewana, travelling south.

Eash was found to be dead from the head-on crash.

Perez was arrested for OWI Causing Death and Operating While Never Licensed.
