SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- From pumpkins to face painting, families in South Bend are embracing all things autumn, and the Indiana Dinosaur Museum is collaborating with Goodwill to put on Harvest Fest as part of the museum's Wicked Weekends.
Harvest Fest is a public event packed with activities for the whole family. Whether it’s hayrides or experiencing interactive exhibits, the museum is dedicated to connecting children with nature and sparking curiosity.
“It's all about the kids,” said Mark Tarner, President of the Indiana Dinosaur Museum. “To see them smile and have just kind of a genuine, I mean, you can come out here and spend very little or no money. It's been a great it's been great to see that it's kind of a legacy.”
This year, Goodwill offered a discounted Halloween costume pop-up shop for families and coordinated some very special guest appearances of their very own dinosaurs.
“I’ve never gotten so many hugs in my life!” said Linda, a Goodwill store manager who dressed as a dinosaur for the event. “This is what it's all about.”
If you missed the festivities this time around, Harvest Fest will return to the Indiana Dinosaur Museum next weekend, running from October 17th to the 19th.
