SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two totally different forecasts are in place this year for Halloween compared to last year.
Halloween 2023 was cold and snowy. Halloween 2024 is mild and wet.
Two very different weather conditions each with their different impacts.
Halloween might be the best example of how a holiday can be very inconsistent weatherwise year to year.
Last year, South Bend had a cold high of only 36 degrees on Halloween meanwhile this year it is shaping up to be 70 degrees.
1.4 inches of snow fell from the sky last year, making a winter wonderland on a spooky day.
Showers are expected today before trick or treating time, so no snow this time around.
It will be warm and breezy though this year.
In fact, only 25% of Halloweens in South Bend have had temperatures warmer than 65 degrees. This year is another one to add to that list.
Whether you prefer a warm Halloween over a cold one, or a snowy one over a rainy one, have a great Halloween!
