ELKHART, Ind. -- On Saturday, Habitat for Humanity is hosting a Faith Build event at Silverwood Mennonite Church in Goshen with hopes of bringing together volunteers from various churches across Elkhart County to construct the walls for the future homes of two local families.

“The Faith Build initiative demonstrates the power of community and faith in action, bringing together congregations to address the need for affordable housing," said Habitat for Humanity of Elhart County’s President Greg Conrad.

"By working side by side, volunteers will not only build physical structures but also strengthen the bonds within the community. We are truly excited about the impact we can make when our community unites in the spirit of generosity and compassion.”

The event will bring Habitat for Humanity together with half a dozen churches of all sizes and denominations.

"Over 50 volunteers will roll up their sleeves to build side by side, building and raising the walls from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.," a Habitat for Humanity spokesperson said.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, March 22
  • Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
  • Location: 1745 W Lincoln Ave, Goshen IN

Members of the two local families receiving homes will be present and actively participating in the build, offering volunteers a unique opportunity to work alongside the individuals directly benefiting from their efforts.
