SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday for new luxury condos in South Bend.
Sideline Flats will be a four-story condominium situated right off of South Bend Avenue.
The condos, right down the road from Notre Dame's campus in the old Mulligans lot, will hold 27 units for families.
South Bend Mayor James Mueller and Mark McGill with the South Bend Regional Chamber were in attendance for the groundbreaking.
“Obviously the physical structure of the building on this corner is going to change a lot, it’s going to be a presence. But I think really, the alumni or whoever ends up buying these condos, they’re going to have breathtaking views like we talked about, they’re going to have easy access to Linebacker, to campus, and really it’s just going to be an extremely convenient location with a beautiful view,” said Chris Gormley, Developer of Sideline Flats.
The project is expected to take 14 months to complete.
