Granger man accused of stealing catalytic converters

ELKHART, Ind. – A Granger man was arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing catalytic converters, the Elkhart Police Department reported.

Early Friday morning, an officer on patrol noticed fresh tire tracks in the snow that led into the parking lot of a closed business in the 800 block of Verdant Street in Elkhart.

A man was in a parked vehicle next to the van.

The van was missing a catalytic converter, reports said.

After obtaining a search warrant, the officer found two catalytic converters in the man’s vehicle, according to reports.

Andrew Watson, 33, was arrested on the charges of false informing and theft – motor vehicle parts.
