GRANGER, Ind. - Every teacher wants to make sure their students are loved and cared for, but one teacher in Michiana went the extra mile to show her students love this Valentine's Day and how to spread the love to those less fortunate.
Julia Rulli at Horizon Elementary in Granger came up with the motto "You Are Loved" for her fourth-grade class.
Rulli surprised her students with t-shirts to help spread the message across the whole school and now Mrs. Rulli's class motto is growing with an even bigger purpose.
Mrs. Rulli and her students were able to raise $420 to donate to the Early Intervention Program at the South Bend Homeless Shelter.
Not only did her students get to feel seen and loved, but they got to learn how to do the same for others.
