Gov. Whitmer provides update on COVID-19 response
During her press conference Tuesday afternoon, Governor Gretchen Whitmer provided an update on the state's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gov. Whitmer announced the case counts have been declining and the test positivity rates are also falling. She says residents still need to practice social distancing and mask wearing to keep the numbers down.
The governor also announced the administration has started distributing the vaccine to skilled nursing home residents and staff.
On Tuesday, Whitmer also signed a relief bill that includes $55 million for small businesses and $45 million for workers who have been laid off or furloughed during the pandemic.
