Gov. Braun extends gas tax suspension, continues diesel tax relief another month

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced Wednesday that he's extending the suspension of the Gasoline Excise Tax and the Gasoline Usage Tax through Dec. 4, which includes continued diesel tax relief.

"Affordability is my top priority, and I'm using every tool available to help Hoosier families and farmers save money at the pump. We're keeping these savings for Hoosier families and farmers in place for another month while protecting funding for our roads and infrastructure," said Braun.

Braun's executive orders extend Indiana's energy emergency, with the tax suspension beginning Nov. 5. Braun initially declared a statewide energy emergency on Aug. 7.

The suspension of special fuel restrictions for Indiana farmers and timber harvesters, allowing them to use dyed diesel fuel in qualifying highway vehicles engaged in agricultural and timber harvesting operations, has also been extended for 30 days.
