ABC 57 GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen College Education program, in partnership with the Lilly Foundation, will host a Science of Reading Summit on November 7 and 8.
The summit will feature workshops for teachers, administrators, and parents on teaching literacy to young children. The summit’s keynote speaker is Dr. Elsa Cárdenas-Hagan, president of the Valley Speech Language and Learning Center in Brownsville, Texas, and a bilingual speech and language pathologist.
On Friday, Nov. 7, there will be two half-day sessions for teachers and administrators on the science of reading, with a special focus on multilingual learners. On Saturday, Nov. 8, Cárdenas-Hagan will deliver a keynote address for parents on how to help their children with literacy skills
