SOUTH BEND -- John Patrick McGann, owner and funeral director of McGann Hay Funeral Home, was found guilty on charges for stalking and invasion of privacy Friday.

According to court records, a warrant was issued for McGann in June of last year.

McGann was first charged with felony stalking in January 2023.

Jail records show McGann was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on June 25, 2024, and released a short time later on the 28th.

The jury trial commenced and concluded on Friday, March 31, 2025.

McGann waived sentencing within 30 days. 

Sentencing is scheduled for April 29 at 9:00 a.m.
