Inspection records show conditions at shuttered Red Rock Inn
ST JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.-- County Engineer, Sky Medors, and St. Joseph Count Commissioner, Rafael Morton, held a press conference this morning at the County/City Building to discuss the plans for the Mayflower Road Bridge project.
The Mayflower Road Bridge, originally scheduled to be reopened this week, has faced disruptions and delays due to freezing winter temperatures.
"We were ready to open several weeks ago, well, a couple months ago," said Medors. "...and during an inspection, we identified in the northern approach slab of the bridge over Ardmore trail that the elevations weren't to what the plans called for."
Rafael Morton tells ABC57, "[We] really wanted to make sure that we put the word out of the bridge not opening tomorrow because of the extreme temperatures, and we are steadfast in trying to make that happen next week."
Plans to reopen the Mayflower Road Bridge have been pushed to the end of next week.
