Free financial literacy event for teens during British soccer match at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A private company is teaming with a local non-profit to offer a free financial education event for teens on Saturday, July 27, just hours before Celtic FC and Chelsea FC faceoff in an international friendly match at Notre Dame Stadium.

Global analytics software company FICO will host "Score A Better Future" fundamentals credit education event for teens from the Boys & Girls Club of St. Joseph starting at 1:30 p.m.

"This event will provide students with the knowledge and resources to gain a deeper understanding of how to work toward their financial well-being, including the role of credit and an overview of the FICO® Score," organizers said.

Thanks to a collaboration between FICO, Chelsea FC, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, those who come to the event will also be able to attend the soccer match following the workshop for free.

"We are excited to empower and inspire these soccer fans from the Boys & Girls Club of St. Joseph to achieve their future financial goals through our workshops," said Jenelle Dito, FICO Scores client services. "Our second stop on the Chelsea FC U.S. summer tour represents another stride in FICO's mission to promote financial literacy nationwide, empowering communities toward financial independence."

Tickets to the game, which starts at 4 p.m., can be purchased online for $65.
