Franklin Street in Michigan City converted to two-way street for first time in decades

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- According to the office of Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch, striping began on Franklin Street north of Ninth Street in Michigan City on Friday.

"The western lane of Franklin will remain closed through Sunday, Nov. 24," city officials said. "When it reopens on Monday, Nov. 25, it will do so as a southbound lane, effectively converting Franklin Street to a two-way throughfare for the first time in decades."
