Four Winds Casinos furloughs 1,489 employees due to COVID-19

Four Winds Casinos notified Michigan officials they have furloughed 1,489 non-essential employees at its Michigan and Indiana locations.

The casinos closed to the public because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though the date for reopening is not known, they plan to recall all furloughed employees when operations resume.

The furlough affects employees in the casinos, hotels, and restaurants at their locations in Hartford, Dowagiac, New Buffalo and South Bend.

Four Winds Casinos notified the Workforce Development Agency of the furloughs on April 13 as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
