Fort Wayne teen leads police chase in stolen Jeep

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports a deputy observed a 2018 Jeep traveling west at 110 mph on US 30 around 3:15 a.m. Monday.

The speed limit in that area is 60 mph.

The deputy and an officer with the Bourbon Police Department caught up to the Jeep and attempted to make a traffic stop.

Authorities say the Jeep failed to stop, leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended in the area of US 30 and Pioneer Drive.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Damion L. Jeffrey of Fort Wayne, was taken into custody.

During the investigation, authorities learned the Jeep had been stolen from a dealership in the Warsaw area.

Jeffrey was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, a Level 6 Felony.

He was issued a $1505 bond.
