South Bend Police Department SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced the passing of a former South Bend Police Officer, 61-year-old Phil Trent.
Trent served SBPD for 33 years in various different roles in their department, both in the patrol division and detective bureau.
During his career, Trent achieved the rank of Captain and retired in 2021 as a day shift Lieutenant in the patrol division.
