Former Notre Dame running back now facing murder charge in 5-year-old's death

The former Notre Dame running back that was charged with abuse of a 5-year-old girl is now facing a murder charge.

On Wednesday, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested 28-year-old Cierre Wood and his girlfriend 26-year-old Amy Taylor in connection with the death of his girlfriend's 5-year-old daughter.

Wood was in court on Thursday and was charged with murder in the first degree.

Police were called to a Las Vegas hospital Tuesday night for a child's death.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine exactly how the girl died.
