EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- The first marijuana dispensary in Edwardsburg is now up and running and is being housed in a former village staple.
“Dr. A’s Re-Leaf Center” officially opened for medical patients Monday in the former Lunker’s building on U.S. 12.
The sporting goods store and restaurant closed five years ago and has been vacant ever since, but its new owners stumbled upon the space while looking for a property in Cass County to open a dispensary.
And now, just three months after getting work started on the 8,500 square foot building, they’re bringing life to it once again.
“This place is unique and iconic to most of the area, including people in Indiana as well,” said Stewart Ireland, Director of Operations. “It has a lot of opportunities besides just the dispensary.”
Doctor A’s will also sell recreational marijuana pending approval from the state.
