ELKHART, Ind. -- A piece of Elkhart's history will soon no longer exist.
The old Bayer building off of Randolph street is being demolished.
The building used to be the home of the Miles Bayer Laboratory where the Flintstone vitamins and Alka-Seltzer were made.
Demolishing the building is no easy task. At the height the plant's production, it covered more than one million square feet.
Some remmants have been saved, including a time capsule and piece of artwork from the building that's now housed at the Lerner Theater.
