SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --It's a bittersweet farewell as Flint Dance Studio takes its final bow after 64 years of service to the community.
Owner and teacher at Flint Dance Studio, Sheri Gordon, is experiencing a whirlwind of emotions as the studio ends its 64-year journey.
However, one thing is certain: she's excited to finally embrace the role of nama.
"I'm nama and nothing makes me more excited and ready for a new chapter. Heartbreaking on one end, but I'm never done. I'm not done dancing; I'll keep on going. And I'll just dance as nama with my grandbabies," Flint Gordon said.
Back in February, Flint Gordon announced in a Facebook post that 2023-2024 season will be the final year.
Saturday's final performance was a heartfelt tribute to Flint Dance Studio's history and students. The standing ovation during the final curtain call honored the studio's contributions to the arts.
The studio is still on the market, with many potential buyers already touring the building. She says she is hopeful it can remain in good hands.
