Notre Dame prepares for funeral of legendary coach Lou Holtz
GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen local leaders and community members gathered at the Goshen Courthouse on Wednesday to commemorate a new flag location on the courthouse’s campus.
The Goshen High School marching band played the Indiana and National anthems as the flags were being presented.
Indiana’s Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch and Representative Jackie Walorski were at the ceremony to celebrate the occasion.
“The courthouse has been here for 153 years and the flags flew from the courthouse, but today we celebrated raising the flags here on the courthouse yard. The principles that have made our country great and that men and women have sacrificed their lives for," said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch.
The typical location of flags being raised above the entrance of the courthouse was deemed unsafe before officials chose a location on the courthouse lawn to display the stars and stripes.
