CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Saturday at 6 p.m., at the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Decatur Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
Police say that a 35-year-old Elkhart woman was traveling south on Decatur Road and stopped at a stop sign before entering the intersection.
A 57-year-old man from Marcellus was traveling westbound on Marcellus Highway, entered the intersection and struck the other vehicle, according to deputies.
A 42-year-old woman from Three Rivers was also traveling east on Marcellus Highway with two passengers in her vehicle at the same time of the crash and her vehicle was struck by the other two after the first collision.
The driver of the first vehicle was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, another was delivered to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo and the final three were taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Officials say that while alcohol is not believed to be a factor, seat belt use is unknown at this time.
