Firefighters, residents, and three dogs all safe after Wednesday house fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department responded to a house fire Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 block of Johnson Street around 1:30 p.m. where they found flames and smoke coming from the home.

"Upon arrival fire crews noted a working fire with smoke coming from the North side of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished within the first 10 minutes," fire officials said. "As always, fire investigators called to scene."

There were no injuries to firefighters, the residents, or their three dogs. 

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
