SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The worst loss for Notre Dame since 1989 took place Tuesday night at Purcell Pavilion as Notre Dame took on the Blue Devils 100 to 56.
The game had a sold-out crowd with Marcus Freeman and former player Rex Flooger in attendance to watch the big matchup.
A highlight of the night was freshman Cam Boozer finishing with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
The Blue Devils jumped out early with a 22 to 4 run, building a 54 to 22 halftime lead.
Three other Duke players scored in double figures and the Irish struggled defensively and offensively.
Notre Dame's Cole Certa and Brady Kohler each scored 14 points, but it wasn't nearly enough to slow down the Blue Devils.
Micah Shrewsberry came out at halftime with a boot on his left leg, sustaining what looked like a serious injury.
When Shrewsberry was asked about the injury, his answer was simple.
"The season of hell continues, breaks the next opportunity embrace tomorrow, and if we just keep getting chances and opportunities, we're going to keep fighting our way and see what happens.," stated Shrewsberry.
The Irish take on NC State Saturday, Feb 28., with tipoff beginning at 12 p.m.
