ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Homicide Unit reported a fatal shooting early Sunday at the 700 block of C.O. Rd. 3 N.
At approximately 4:40 a.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a dispatch call reporting a shooting that involved injuries.
The Elkhart City Police Department officers arrived shortly after and found two adult males with gunshot wounds.
One male victim, 33-year-old Romulo Jesus Reyes Osuna, was pronounced dead at the scene, having succumbed to his injuries.
The second male victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The latest information indicates that the victim remains in critical condition.
No arrests have been made at this time and the situation remains as an ongoing investigation.
