Fatal Motorcycle crash in Antwerp Township

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. --The Van Buren County Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash in the 49000 block of County Road 653 in Antwerp Township. 

Through investigation, it was determined that a 47-year-old Paw Paw man was going south bound on County Road 653, when the motorcycle drifted off the roadway, onto the shoulder. 

The rider struck a mailbox, which separated him from the motorcycle. 

He wasn't wearing a helmet and was found unresponsive at the crash scene. 

The man was transported to the Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo, where he later died from his injuries. 

This crash currently remains under investigation.
