Fatal crash being investigated by Elkhart Police Department

ELKHARTY COUNTY, Ind. --The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian, which occurred earlier this evening in the 2700 block of Johnson St/Merrill St, Elkhart, In. area.
At approximately 6:47 p.m. on January 11, 2023, 911 received a call about a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian with injuries.
The initial investigation indicates a Toyota Camry going southbound on Johnson St struck an adult male pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The adult female driver of the Camry stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
No other injuries were reported.
The Elkhart Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is still investigating.
