BREAKING: Former MLB legend Pete Rose has passed away at the age 83

UPDATE: (Sept. 30): It has been announced that at the age of 83-years old, former professional baseball player Pete Rose has died.

The Lerner Theatre has not yet made a statement in regard to the 'An Evening with Pete Rose Live' event that was rescheduled for Nov. 22.

We will update as we learn more.

UPDATE: (Sept. 18): The Lerner Theatre announced that the rescheduled show will take place at 8 p.m. on Nov. 22.

"The Lerner Theatre sincerely thanks our patrons for their patience in this change and remains committed to delivering exceptional events that bring the community of Elkhart together," event officials said.

Refund Information:

Ticketholders should contact the Box Office by Oct. 17 for a refund if the new date is not suitable. If purchase was made via credit card, please allow three to five business days after receipt of refund confirmation for your refund to be received.

*Please note: refunds via credit card will go back to the original card used when making the purchase. If a purchase was made via cash, check, or gift certificate, a check from The City of Elkhart will be issued and mailed to your address on file. Checks issued from The City will take approximately six to eight weeks to arrive in the mail.

UPDATE: On Friday, Sept. 13, the Lerner Theatre announced that the event has been postponed to an unknown date in the future. 

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, 4192: An Evening with Pete Rose Live scheduled for 8 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Lerner Theatre has been postponed with a new date to be announced," theatre officials said. 

ORIGINAL: ELKHART, Ind. -- The Lerner Theatre announced that Pete Rose is coming to Elkhart on Sept. 14 to host "An Evening with Pete Rose Live!" event.

The show begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 14, tickets are on sale now with a limited number of VIP tickets available for meet and greet options. These add-on fees include photo opportunities with Pete Rose and signed merchandise items.

The Lerner Theatre summarizes Pete's long career and achievements with stating: "Peter Edward Rose Sr. (born April 14, 1941), also known by his nickname "Charlie Hustle", is an American former professional baseball player and manager. Rose played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds lineup known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos. During and after his playing career, he served as the manager of the Reds from 1984 to 1989."
