Elkhart's Lerner Theatre hosts An Evening with Pete Rose Live

UPDATE: On Friday, Sept. 13, the Lerner Theatre announced that the event has been postponed to an unknown date in the future. 

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, 4192: An Evening with Pete Rose Live scheduled for 8 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Lerner Theatre has been postponed with a new date to be announced," theatre officials said. 

ORIGINAL: ELKHART, Ind. -- The Lerner Theatre announced that Pete Rose is coming to Elkhart on Sept. 14 to host "An Evening with Pete Rose Live!" event.

The show begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 14, tickets are on sale now with a limited number of VIP tickets available for meet and greet options. These add-on fees include photo opportunities with Pete Rose and signed merchandise items.

The Lerner Theatre summarizes Pete's long career and achievements with stating: "Peter Edward Rose Sr. (born April 14, 1941), also known by his nickname "Charlie Hustle", is an American former professional baseball player and manager. Rose played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds lineup known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos. During and after his playing career, he served as the manager of the Reds from 1984 to 1989."
