Family Video offering promotion to remove late fees for customers

GLENVIEW, Ill. – Family Video stores across the Midwest are offering customers with a late fee balance a deal to get them back into the video store.

The store’s “Late Fee Amnesty” promotion offers to remove customers’ late fee balances if they purchase a rental movie or video game.

This one-time promotion, which runs from Oct. 20 to Oct. 25, will also cover accounts with delinquent items that weren’t returned.

If you do bring back a rented item, Family Video said you will not face a penalty.

The promotion comes as the last standing brick and mortar retail store struggles to maintain business during the coronavirus pandemic.

Because of the pandemic, 200 stores across the country have closed.
