Extremely cold temperatures settling in tonight through Tuesday

NOW: Extremely cold temperatures settling in tonight through Tuesday

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Sunday, January 19, 2025

Partly cloudy skies are present now, but the sunshine is deceiving as temperatures remain in the teens and are expected to drop further this evening. Berrien and Cass counties are currently under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 PM Monday due to significant snow accumulation and frigid temperatures. By the end of Monday, these areas could see an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow.

In other counties of Michiana, snow showers are expected to taper off tonight, with overnight lows dipping to or below zero. Early next week will bring the potential for more lake-effect snow, with high temperatures only reaching the single digits. Wind chill values will plummet to around -15°F or colder.

A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect for all of Michiana starting tonight and lasting through Wednesday morning due to dangerously low wind chill values. However, conditions should improve in the latter half of the week, with clearing skies and temperatures gradually returning to seasonal norms.

Tonight: Frigid, snow chance. Low -1.

M.L.K. Jr. Day: Frigid, light snow chance. High 7.

Tuesday: Extremely cold, mostly cloudy. High 3.

Wednesday: Partly Sunny. High 19.
