Expired driver’s license grace period ending soon for Michiganders

LANSING, Mich. – The coronavirus pandemic caused many things to be granted extensions and grace periods, one of which was expiring driver’s licenses. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer gave such a grace period to the mitten state back in March, but that will soon expire.

Anyone with an expiration date on their driver’s license after March 1st was given a chance to renew it before October.

This was due in large part to limited capacities and outright closures of many government buildings.

It doesn’t appear as though an extension will be granted for this again, meaning Michiganders have until Wednesday, September 30th to renew their license.

Links to information about renewing your license can be found on the state’s website.
