BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Holiday train rides happened at Eden Springs Park this evening, allowing the community to come out and take a ride on the over 100-year-old steam engine for the holiday season.
The park in Berrien County was opened all the way back in 1908, closing down in the 1970s before being reopened in 2009 by preservationists.
Now the holiday train rides see families coming back year after year.
"It's also become a tradition for a lot of families. Now it's a chance for them to come and enjoy and get together. So, it's pleasing to see all the smiles on the kids' faces. So, it's our way of giving back to the community as well," stated President of Eden Springs Park Preservationist Gordan Ray.
The ride providing a link between generations, some of whom got to go as kids way back when, now get to take their grandkids to enjoy.
