Earth Day celebration honors Aldo Leopold at DeFries Homestead

NEW PARIS, Ind. -- A special Earth Day celebration will be held honoring the life and legacy of renowned conservationist Aldo Leopold on April 21 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the DeFries Homestead.

The event will feature a presentation led by Vince Gresham, Natural Resource Coordinator for Elkhart County Parks. Vince was a facilitator and co-author of the Leopold Education Project curriculum, an outdoor education program based on Leopold’s classic work, A Sand County Almanac. 

The Earth Day program offers community members an opportunity to reflect on Leopold’s enduring message and celebrate a shared commitment to protecting our natural resources.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
