Driver sends bicyclist to local hospital with multiple injuries

ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sherriff’s Office responded to an injured bicyclist Sunday morning at Old US 33 and Tower Rd.
At 7:37 a.m., the bicyclist was traveling east on Old US 33 west of Tower Rd. when an unknown vehicle's front passenger side collided with the bicyclist's rear tire.
The vehicle left the scene.
The bicyclist was soon transported to a local hospital for a possible broken back, broken pelvis, and a laceration to his head.
